I don't know about the rest, but it was pretty obvious to me that Nagi would somehow become the "main character," or at least, one of the central figures of the manga later on. With Nagi being tagged as the cliched, obvious underdog who wants (and needs) to become stronger and with Aya falling for him from the first day, it was already pretty obvious. Even Masataka focuses on him in his narration, (something about Nagi feeling "pure joy" in fighting) and the part where Nagi goes, "I'm supposed to be the hero here!" further confirmed my guess. At first, I figured it would be Maya or Masataka playing the main role, but my suspicions changed as the first few chapters rolled by. Still, Nagi is only a "main character" as much as Maya is a significant character during the past and present arcs.miyagiCE wrote:On top of that, as somebody said before already, it focuses way too much on Souichiro and makes him look like the main character, while the original manga had no real main character at the time the anime was made. It was not until much later that Souichiro slowly turned out to somehow become the centre of the story - A step I personally cannot accept till even today.
Not only Masataka (though of course, yes); I'm pretty much a fan of all characters. I grew to like each of them the individual way they are. Well, yeah... all but Nagi.HappyStealer wrote:ROFL! I'd take a good guess that your a masataka fan? LOL
Tell that to Bunshichi, Shin, or Maya. :(kujoe wrote:Now Mitsuomi's hair color on the other hand... I always imagined him to be blond or something close to it.
