Volume 11 cover is also quite cool in its own way, but Masa just looks weird with a skateboard.

Stretching a manga when it becomes popular is usually a bad thing ,but with TJTG it's not necessary wrong. The storyline expands nicely, some new interesting characters are introduced (Souhaku) , some old ones return (Tawara YAY!!). At least it's not like: the "good" characters beat the "evil boss" ...
