Wow, great find, Sleepy Weasel! I think that's the first time I've see Masataka with a weapon of any sort, much less a sword. I think he's wearing lipstick, too.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the chapter when it comes out!

Nice. Masataka looks like the main guy from the Prince of Tennis, except with a sword.

With a cover like that there's no way we can get another Nagi chapter right? Right!?

Well, the first thing I thought was how Aya is supposed to be the katana for the person who cuts the chains of fate and that's no katana.

Edit: UJ updated the site, has an image of Masataka still in his stance (close up of face), apparently it's a 35 page chapter so we get some substance now.

I've never been so happy with low quality. Day of release images for TenTen, don't think I've seen that before so you know a lot of people have been waiting for this. I was hoping Isuzu, Tagami, and Kagurazaka would be conscious to see it happen now how will they handle it? Lastly, no TenTen next month, that must be the announcement thing on the last page? Well, due to the epic win of this chapter two months isn't so bad....

another month skipped? waaa

ok I agree this chapter is awsome, but short, and now skipping a month again? I demand answers Oh great!

you going to tell us what the 2nd to last page says fugu? :)

I am guessing 1 for sure, most likely 2. 3 if those bones went through mits heart (and not counting the misc goons in suits outside)

Wow, nice, the entire building coming down. Kinda creepy, Kabane holding the upper body of his sister. Stupid how Nagi ripped of most of the middle portion of Kabane's armor and didn't just kill him right there.

If he's alive, he'll never be able to fight in the tournament. Bones don't knit that fast, especialy if they're grinded to dust...

I wonder if Mitsuomi is really gone, who's going to fight in place of him, Masataka? Bob vs Nagi? Wondering if this is part of Mitsuomi's plan too since he planned to die the day after tonight anyway, but I'm not sure for what reason still. Also his dad would have a reason of being around since he's the head of the family originally, he'd have to finish the rest of the "plan".

Another long wait >_< I blame it on air gear!

sorry kiddo, you can't blame AG for this one. We don't get another issue for a month either. Besides, he does TT and AG in a weeks time.

aww no AG too? I read them both, just TT on a higher priority than AG

Wonder what's his reason on the last page of this chapter

I sure hope that the girl with the camera-eyes somehow evaded the whole building being brought down on everyone's heads. The goons I could care less about; that's kinda why they are there in the story. 8)

It looks to me like Kabane cut a slice through the whole building (a feat of enormous power, especially gravely wounded as he was) and then made the dust into a forest of blades above their heads, although I can't tell if he brought them down in the last panel or what -- his face is framed by what look like (red?) feathers. Symbolism? Something that would be obvious if I could read Japanese? One thing seemed sure to me -- Kabane was self-destructing with the aim of taking out Souhaku (I can no longer call "The Demon Exorcist" Nagi Souichirou) as well.

Like you said -- Dang. I like Kabane's character a lot.

I look forward to fugu's translation!

Just checked the Air Gear forum at stoptazmo, turn out it was a false report. Air Gear will be back in issue 44-45 of Shonen magizine.
Sorry about that!

sword fish, the swords he made from the ceiling are representing a sunflower. that whole diaolog is him telling shoujou he loves her. the page prior to that has his sunflower seeds falling out.

it's interesting seeing backflash of masataka and isuzu. aside from this being a great chapter, vol 19 has another color page we haven't seen of aya with a buck knife down and through her shorts

Question regarding the fight for someone with better JP language skills than I, or I can just wait for a TL but since the threads gone quiet why not ask? Any idea what is going on between the part after the brothers pound each others heads a second time and Masataka dashes behind Mits. Mits does something with his scarred hand, Isuzu and the gang seem excited, Dougen not so much, and then it shows the moon again. It's the key sequence to the outcome of the fight I think and I got no idea on it.

I got back to Tokyo last night, and picked up UJ today.

But I'm crazy busy, do you might want to fish around other places for translations if you are in a rush. Maybe Evil Genius will start doing it again. It will probably take me a few more weeks at least.

The UJ cover is pretty sweet, I would love a copy of that without the text (it will probably show up in the yearly Ultra Graphics thing though.)

Just in time for a nice shiny HD scan from the usual place. Now I can make out exactly how Masataka stopped that first strike Mits had going.

I picked up my volume 19 yesterday. New pages inserted into most chapters, if I remember the old scans correctly. Nothing major, though. The pinup has Bunshichi in a turtleneck on side A, and one of Aya on side B which I've never seen before.

I'll take a stab at this for ya. Just to warn you it doesnt really explain a "technique" that masataka uses to win. Well you will see.

(starting at page 25)
Isuzu - evenly... evenly matched!!?
Kicking guy - No it isn't you idiot
Mi-chan hasn't once defended against junior's attacks!!

(page 26)
Isuzu - "he broke through"
spear guy - "the middle is open" (i think hes refering to the fact that masataka's torso is now vulnerable to a strike? lol)
the kicking guy - "to say it plainly, in this case that's wrong, defense is the essence of 'bu', the core of it"
text around dad = "in a war between 2 specialist at 'bu', whoever excels in the techniques of defense......... will win
dad - an ant is it....... (i think this kanji is ant lol)

(page 27 )
do you know what that means .... mitsotomi
as i thought you, i wasn't wrong when i thought you were the most suitable man to obtain "the true version of 'bu'"
.......but!!

(page 28 )
Dad - "the 1000 meter wall can be destroyed by (sometype of ant) by entering the holes" (I think this might be some weird proverb or something lol - you can kind of guess what it means by looking at the drawings)
even if that "defense" is powerful, the young, small ants can secretly enter the empty holes in the wall.
the wind and rain will eat away at those holes
they will begin to seperate
and finally break apart

(page 29)
......masataka
I was... during that time
I was planning on letting you hit me
If you hit me
It would have felt like someone would be forgiving me

(more or less the rest of the text from then on is is along the lines of mitsutomi wanting to be forgiven, and masataka saying you dont need to fight anymore brother - theres no technical explanation as to how he pulled the win out. - although he calls masataka his "weakness")
Oh yea to clarify the whole ant metaphor, In i think page 4, mitsutomi calls him an ant, and near the end right after the elbow of utter destruction connects, he calls masataka "his ant" ie- his weakness)

So that's what it was getting at, thanks much for a TL. Good to know picture guesslations can be semi close (haha, not really). I was thinking initially that the ants and wall crumbling represented how small things can get inside of even the strongest wall and eventually wear it down, but I was also thinking that twist Mits did with his fist on 26 was readying some killer punch Emi recognized. Also, the elbow of ultimate destruction is a great name for a technique.

Next, I don't think the ants represent weakness so much as more the ability to see the weakness although it really can be both (remember when Bunshich referred to him as a beast that pounces on the slightest opening and tears into it). It's seems like both Mits is weak against his brother and Masa can see how Mits is suffering.

I am eager to see how Emi and the gang react to all the happenings. I doubt they plan on mass suicide like they were going to with Bunshichi.

Yea i didn't mean ant = weakness persay, but according to the previous metaphor, mitsutomi = some crazy castle wall type thingy, and masataka = ants that can break the wall. To put it in perspective:

p.30
my sins...
my weakness....
masataka - Ni-san

p.31-32
Ni-san...
You don't need to fight anymore
Ni-san...
Only Ni-san hasn't realized it.
For you who has become so worn down, and can't even move properly
Even though you're in pain, you continue to fight
No one..
wants Ni-san to continue to fight
Mitsutomi- Masataka
Mitsutomi- you are, to me, you are my ant (this is what i was refering to earlier)

p.33-34
I understand
That's why I didn't want to get closer to you (as in becoming friendlier)

p.35
Only you can break my heart
You make me weaker (lol these last 2 sound kinda kinky)
Only you
are the one to forgive me

About his break, its explained on the last page. Long story short, hes got a medical issue.
Here's my translation of that:

Title: Apology for next issues break
I'm very sorry but in next weeks ultra jump, Tenjou Tenge will be taking a break.

To the many people who are thinking, "But last month you just took a break!" I'm sorry. The other day at the medical checkup place, during an examination, we found something that must be checked out. I must get an examination at a hospital. (this next sentence i'm a little iffy about) More importantly then what the symptoms are (i think he just doesnt want to say what it is), Before this becomes worse and messes up my congested schedule even more, Its important that i completely recover from this illness. Personally, I didn't want to have to take a break now that we are reaching the climax of this story but.......

To all of you who read Tenjou Tenge, I'm very sorry.
I will work at a furious pace upon resumption, so from here on out please continue supporting me.

The small bubble on the bottom right says:
Tenjou tenge will resume serialization in the ultra jump 12th issue (nov 19th) Please look forward to it!!

-Hunter x Hunter crossed my mind when i first read this, but if they resumptions already scheduled i guess its not too bad.....

For people who understand French, there is a translation available on RSF forum

I can't say about it's relevance since I've never seen the work of this team, but at least, it seems correct... (which is not that obvious...)

Maybe I missed a step but did Masataka just take three steps to beat his brother too? This relates back to 115 but it looks like he may have. The first step which sweeps Mit's leg out from him and the two to get behind him (which doesn't really look like steps as much as one big leap forward and reverse) and follow through with the elbow to the back so a step to plant and a step to drive the elbow into his brother making three.

Another take would be that he did pull Mitsuomi down with his first pace (basically cancelled that punch he had going), attacked with the second (got that elbow strike going), and crushed the guard with the third.

Dizzy wrote:Maybe I missed a step but did Masataka just take three steps to beat his brother too?
Don't share this opinion, They exchanged blows before the final blow. So naturally it would be more then three steps for deciding this fight.

Wouldn't it be great if Masataka is able to stop the permanent overworking of Mitsuomi's heart caused by Shin? And stop the wheel of dieing? Though the abuse of the ability drove Mitsuomi to a point where he won't be able to fight anymore, but live a normal life.
Just like a phoenix (Masataka) it said (RPG-Games ^^) that it will resurrects the dead (Mitsuomi).
