^Awww. Well the Hotaru Clan were only instructed to heal her wounds and nothing more.

Yeah, my reaction was the same "ooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Too bad it is only 20 pages chapter .. and .. Makiko.. Sigh, but it was certain that her fate would end like this. It is Oh Great style after all, to keep main characters dieing. It's not Bleach, where shitload of main characters keep breeding instead of dieing. :P

I knew that this chapter was going to be a cliffhanger :(

You just can't have that many awesome chapters.

Wonder if nagi is going to go berserk and as I see amatseru is not afecting him that much.

Really wasn't all the excited for this chapter because I pretty much expected a full chapter devoted to the two things that happened (just not as short a chapter as it turned out to be). It moved things along and sets up the next chapter well enough.

Actually I just remembered that the age for consensual sex is 14 in Canada, and before you say it's too young we are trying to up it to 16, so it's fine.

It was a no brainer chapter, you can't just kill of Makiko without given her at least 1 chapter dedicated to her demise.

The only thing that disappointed me was they didn't really need all those pages of Makiko falling and breaking apart or whatever it was that happened to her. The last two pages did remind me of Obi Wan Kenobi's death in A New Hope

It's a classic scene, I've seen it in multiple mangas before with a few variations, it depicts a total powerlessness from the hero/es at saving a loved one.

The best one I saw was in Bastard!! the anti-hero sees the girl he loves in an illusion as she falls to her knees with a look of complete exhaustion, she then breaks and crumbles as if she had been made of sand whe nher kness hit the ground and we see a close up of her head break into a 1000 pieces in between panels of the anti-hero's eyes showing an insane amount of rage.

It's usually followed by said hero/es beating the crap out of the bad guy.

Grass on the field , play ball! Is what the perverts I worked with use to say, or one in particular actually.

That's exactly what I thought too. I wonder if she'll become a force ghost now and come back to give the Jukenbou advice.

Makiko  Hmmm, idk, looked like amaterasu is affecting the big baby nagi looking thing.... so who knows..... I'm actually a tad disappointed with Aya's role... seems like she took a step back even though she was progressing as a character pretty well in the previous chapters... the rest of the jyuukenbu seem to be cheerleaders now...
