Question about TJTG manga...

I read that the manga is pretty old in japan, (5 years i think someone here said) but how come these new issues are being printed now? (ie: fugu recently picked up the new vol)

Is it just some type of re-print of the manga?

It is still in production. It takes a long time to draw manga you know. Serialized monthly, with one chapter per month.

It has been running off and one for a while now (three years, I think), including a recent hiatus that delayed the release of Volume 10. The author has other projects he's been working on (Air Gear comes to mind) as well.

one a month is a bit long, but look at the quality of the finished prodcut.
and then look at naruto chapters, which are released weekly, the mangaka barely has time to finish the lineart, let alone tone.
