I think those might be like those spear things from vol 10. I really wish they didn't bring in this weird technology. I preferred the simpe fighting.
Out of doubt, out of dark to a day's rising
I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking:
now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!

The spears from volume 10 were, as far as I could tell (and based on the terminology) just electrified poles. They weren't collapsable blades of light...SkullKnight wrote:I think those might be like those spear things from vol 10. I really wish they didn't bring in this weird technology. I won't complain too much - TJTG already has "magic".

Colour pages signify one thing: this chapter is the beginning of a new tanko volume. And that means that volume 11 will cover up to Fight 69.
As for the lightsabres, they're an integral part of the "young vs old" dynamic. They're supposed to indicate how the younger generation chose to embrace technology and allow it to pervert them instead of developing their skills and powers from within, as the older generation did.

I think that came out sounding much dirtier than was intended. Or maybe it's just me...The girl really has odd weapons she has a normal knife and then a long snake she wraps around her leg.

hehe, calm down banorac. I never was a fan of starwars. I really hate that starwars has had such an impact we can't associate them as anything else but lightsabers. Damn you! George Lucas. I could have went without starwars in pop culture. Sure it helps the imaginations but we start seeing the "oh don't bother! technology will do it for us" crap that makes us have false security.

Sweet!
I bet she is a White Feather since her fighting style seems to be dual sabers. Although she could be another bastard kid from a Red Feather/White Feather, but I think it would be overdone if they did it with both her and Tsumji(F).
I don't really like Bob's new look, I bet that is only for the cover though. He looks cooler as a Capoeria like fighter than a Jim Kelly Samurai.

I'm with you on that one. I really hope that Bob's new armored look is just for the cover.
And with regard to lightsabers--at least it starts off from a burning spark like a blowtorch. If it zapped to life like a lightsaber from Star Wars, I'd be quite disappointed. Then again I could be wrong.
Ok, I'll stop nitpicking now.

Acetylene gas blades. Basically like a blowtorch, I guess.FuguTabetai wrote:WTF are those mini-lightsaber things?
It's not so much that volume 12 will come with a figure _as well_ but rather that the figure of Aya will now come with a limited edition version of volume 12 (rather than with volume 11 as originally announced). There will now only be a regular edition of volume 11. Volume 12 will be released in the (northern) summer.Ger24 wrote:I looked at the news page and it looks like volume 12 will come with a figure also, I think, the bablefish translation was really confusing.
Her name is Mawari Madoka, presumably the daughter of Mawari who appears at the start of volume 9.Chello wrote:Is that chick a member of "F"?
She takes on Bob, then Isuzu, then Masataka. Looking forward to see how this battle finishes.Or is she some other girl that Bob and Masataka are fighting?

I don't want to say too much. Wait til it comes out. There are some great scenes (IMO), especially the bit where Madoka cuts Bob's jugular.jacko wrote:Bob and Masataka, I can understand. But why Isuzu? care to elaborate?
Basically, Isuzu gets involved because Bob was training on/near school grounds when Madoka attacked him without provocation. Isuzu says she won't allow anyone to disturb the order of the school (and Mitsuomi-san), not even F. Further, she remembers that Mitsuomi-san had promised to Maya that there would be no fighting prior to the forthcoming match - F attacking the Jyukenbu is in breach of this promise. I don't think Isuzu trusts F, which aren't as loyal and obedient to Mitsuomi.

I don't think Masataka can ever open one. The Dragon's Fist*, if I remember correctly, is a power specific to the Nagi clan. So unless Masataka is revealed to be Souichirou's long-lost relative (which is a stupid plot twist in my opinion) Masataka will never show that power.
If he ever has powers of his own, it will be surely of a different kind. But honestly, I like him the way he is. There's already Aya and Souichirou for that matter, so having Masataka as a red feather is already too much.

Don't forget that Masataka comes from Takayanagi's Clan .... The family number one. There are incredible's powers in this family

y'all seem to forget Masataka
1) is a Takayanagi. Which means he's a member of the most powerful family (like the poster above me already said)
2) took a kick from (chibi) Maya without even flinching (see volume 1). No small feat you can say.
3) tossed Aya away when she tried to hold him down (volume 1)
Frankly, I'd rate Masataka as one of the most powerful characters in the series.

Masataka should be really strong, its just that he's not getting any character development in the manga. Everything seems to be about Nagi and Aya now, the two most boring people in the manga....
I want Masataka to be kicking ass already, theres no way he can let Nagi become stronger than him while he does nothing.

You seem to be forgetting one thing as well. The Takayanagi--as the leading clan right now--is a white feather family, and if ever it comes to pass that Masataka will have powers of his own, it will be of a different kind. And before anything like that even happens, he's got to be revealed as a bastard from some red feather clan that the author will mention out of nowhere.jakezOr wrote:y'all seem to forget Masataka

Of course, Masataka's strong. He's got a mean streak that's probably just as intense as Mitsuomi's if not more, and that's precisely why I prefer him the way he is right now. Seriously, would you want him to have powers like Nagi and Tsumuji? That throws all semblance of balance right out of the window, if you ask me.
I'm not saying there's perfect balance or anything--just the mere appearance of it, which is good since it attempts to focus on a main character while trying to give the same equal treatment to the other characters.Sacrin wrote:I'm sorry, but wherer is there balance in this manga. It has a scale as most things like it, but it's not realy balanced. It changes all the time. Wich is great if you ask me. ^_^
BuccKevin: Is that really Kurei's brother? For a while there I thought he was Masataka! Geez man...that's another character in this manga's increasing cast. Despite that, I can't wait to see him action.

That's weird, I was checking the pic of Masataka wrapping his hands yesterday on the back of my volume and there's no panther on it :s
Also, there's this backcover of Isuzu With her thumbs in cuffs standing next to a bath tub, and her dress looks like it's taped to it and in the tub is someone's foot ... Could someone please tell me what THAT'S all about ?

Lots of pics here, and lots of what looks like rough sketches, I don't read jap though ~_~
Oh yea, Panther : http://ultra.shueisha.co.jp/Tenjo/Tenjo ... 37Pin.html
(it appears Fugu forgot to put in the panther scan when he made the torrents, but it's really ok)
BuccKevin : "kurei's real brother" => hahaha

Isn't that her foot ? O_o If it were "to do with something" I'd say it's probably something to do with with her "real" (re : fat) body. Bear in mind Izusu uses a similar concept to Maya (they both change their forms)Also, there's this backcover of Isuzu With her thumbs in cuffs standing next to a bath tub, and her dress looks like it's taped to it and in the tub is someone's foot ... Personally I think Masataka might turn out kinda like Tawara... as the strongest of the group but not like the top guy or leader of the group...jakez0r wrote:y'all seem to forget Masataka

really, that is so cool. Maybe Tawara can even end up training Masataka. Since Dougen (His own father ) is training Nagi. I've never really seen anyone train Masataka at all, but maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, maybe he doesn't need anyone to train him. Is he really that good though???BuccKevin wrote:I too have this gut feeling that there is more to Masataka than what has been shown ;0 Tawara even teams up with Masataka to fight F in volume 12 ;0
Just because no one mentioned it (this may be a spoiler, so SPOILER WARNING or whatever), the thingie on the pic with the panther says that Taka Jr. is an "Anti-Weapons Martial Arts Specialist". So I guess he's good against fighting people who are using weapons. Kind of reminds me of a certain "taijutsu specialist" who also is popular but kind of gets shafted a lot in the story...

Grandfather. And there is no love lost between grandfather and father. Takayanagi's father also cut Mitsuomi out of the family completely. And I suspect that Takayanagi's father is not a fighter. From the all of 2 pages we've heard from him anyway...pv82 wrote: Since Dougen (His own father ) is training Nagi.

well that would explain the pic bucckevin posted up where you see all kind of weapons in the background broken and the damn panda even broke a sword which reminds me wouldn't it be cool if masakata would be the one to break renki if aya was to go crazy.Onimaru wrote:Just because no one mentioned it (this may be a spoiler, so SPOILER WARNING or whatever), the thingie on the pic with the panther says that Taka Jr. is an "Anti-Weapons Martial Arts Specialist". err... jeez bucckevin will won't even get to see vol 12 in other good 3 or 5 months and you know everything thats going on sheesh hook us up with the action.BuccKevin wrote:I too have this gut feeling that there is more to Masataka than what has been shown ;0 Tawara even teams up with Masataka to fight F in volume 12 ;0
Hm, I checked my French volumes and ALL the backcovers have been ruined by stupid Panini comics or generation comics or whatever ... They put this white stuff over half of each drawing, no wonder they allways looked incomplete
So, could someone send me or gove me a link where I can find all backcovers please, because I don't have Fugu's scanlations on my PC anymore, they should be here somewhere between my Naruto CD stack, but I just don't know where

WTF!!! I just got through skimming Fight 71 and Madoka , although not the hottest gal in the series, can definitely kick some ass. She can make swords come out of her mouth and form them with her tongue . Seriously, its not one of my sick jokes . All i go to say is it looks like oh great is planning complicating this even more, plus there looks to be new characters

geez I think oh geat needs to slow it down with adding new characters we still don't have any background story on the main characters but anyway pv82 did you get ultrajump issue or did you get it from someone on mirc?
I bought the March edition of ultrajump, I wish someone would hook me up with some scans or links to them. Fugu is right, the quality is really grainy, I scared that I'm going to rip the page. Fair warning, not every issue of Ultra Jump comes with Ten ten, I found out is out the hard way. BTW I would scan this chapter in and send them to anyone but I don't know how to send them. Sorry . The artwork is fanatisitc though, like this one creature comes out, it looks like if ALIENS and a dragon mated. Uber badass. I still can't figure out why Masataka end up with Tawara or how he's going to fight???
