why souichirou has his hair like that in the beginning

I think Oh!Great was paying a little tribute to the Kunio series, where the main character ( Kunio ) has that same v-cut thing going and the whole Kunio story is basically just like Tengo Tenje, except a lot less serious and realistic. Kunio is the leader called Nekketsu and has many many powerful rivals that fight him in the games, ranging from yakuza to yankee Japanese school - punks. Has anyone else seen this similarity?
