^ I've bought stuff from that seller. They're basically fold out posters you would get from like any magazines.

If you plan to get that, try winning some of her other bids where there low bid or none. You'll save on S&H that way too.

Are they worth it? It looks like a nice poster (would make a better desktop wallpaper), but I not sure since I have never bought from this seller?

They sure charge a LOT for shipping!
Makes like $70~$80...

I'll just settle for my $6 tankoubon comic book...
I'll pay about that much for a full color large size Oh!Great artbook (when that comes out) but can't see how a smallish statue could be worth that much.
Different people have different cost/benefit value I guess.

yea. crazy man. That's like double of what I paid from tokyocentral.

BTW, they posters look okay... but the quality paper is magazine so they *can* rip easily. I'll post a pix of 'em later so you can see what I mean.

edit: this one happen to be slightly better but yea. I mean, I think it's worth it if you're going to buy a bunch but just one or two? probably not.

Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito. Great anime to watch. So much lesbianism in it plus the style is great

yea, like how you get two posters in one but sucks if you want to show off both of 'em. lol

Yeah, but 2 > 1 only when you're a part of it ...

I don't get why some guys like the idea of two girls being together ...

To use Banky's words without uttering disrespect :

There's a crossroad with a 100 $ bill in the center, on the four roads we have Santa, the Esaterbunny, a lesbian and a manhating dyke. Which one of them gets to the money first ?
- The manhating dyke, why ?
Because the others are frigments of your f*ing imagination !

Sorry, my brain made me type out that quote

No, seriously, I don't get it. Especially the weird lesbian porn, it's just weird ( not that they're gay, I respect people's sexual orientation ), but I just think it's weird getting 'hot' on it. I've never heard of girls getting hot over gay men ...

Maybe because 2 men together look weird and/or disgusting (for me and for most the girls I know) while 2 hot women together look beautiful.

And lesbians are cool....although threesomes are better :D

That's because a woman's body is naturally more beautiful than a man's. Women are curvy and round, while men got stuff hanging out. Makes me glad I got to draw all nekkid chicks in life drawing class instead of *shudders* naked guys

IIRC, that particular poster either came from an issue of Animaga or an issue of Megami Magazine several months back. Most likely Animaga.

(Edit: BTW, that particular pic is now available as a pencil board.)

Both Animaga and Megami Magazine contain a lot of folded posters from various anime and games etc.

The current issue of Animedia (the September 2004 issue, released on 10 August 2004) also comes with a TenTen poster (Maya in bikini, I think).

While I haven't met a woman who's into gay porn, I have met quite a few who are either curious or interested by the idea of male homosexual relationships. Some admit it's simply for the fact that there are two guys. Some simply like the idea of two men being sensual with each other or that they possess certain qualities that your typical macho jerk would lack.

As for lesbian porn, I guess some guys would be uncomfortable about it due it's somewhat subversive nature: the idea that one woman's sexual needs can only be met by another woman--the idea that a man's place within the sexual arena is being overthrown. Guys who are into lesbian porn on the other hand, well...there's an obvious reason for that, right? But I guess some men also enjoy the voyueristic appeal of it.

Whatever. I'm not willing to get my hands dirty with gender studies or anything of that sort, since they make my head spin in more ways than one. And once again, sorry for going severely off-topic.

Yes, sorry for the off topic

But I didn't say I think lesbians are weird, just to settle that misconception ;)

I just think it's weird some guys get off on it :P

And to whomever said that lesbians are beautiful, because they're curvey and men are not, well you like curves because you're a guy ...

And now let's get off the lesbian porn topic and back to the original topic :D

Vol. 12
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 43561&rd=1

Fugu's auction is going to end in about 4 1/2 hrs, although I don't know what the last bid was, the current bid doesn't seem to high for 1-11. :D

Edit: bidding has ended, Congrats to whoever won

It would be expensive for me, because I'd just buy it for the colour artworks, so I can put them on my wall :p

Since I already have volumes 1 ro 10 in French

Sorry B,
I am not real savy on shipping, but the last time I was at the USPS(Which is what is widely used on Ebay) I saw that to ship to foreign countries it was like 16$. If I was a seller, Id probably assume that someone form lets say europe would not be willing to pay that huge shipping fee. Dude I get pissed when I have to pay over 5$ for shipping , when the item (ex: CD) cost me 0.89$, in the US.

The proliferation of yaoi manga, as well as yaoi imagery in shoujo manga, would suggest that this 'interest' is more common than you may think.

Yes, but to counter (even though I haven't read much) most yaoi drawings are of prettyboys. If the characters were drawn like I dunno, huge muscular types (I guess like Sagamask or Gatts from Berserk style physiques), I don't think it'd be nearly as popular... ? :) Similarly, most men equate lesbians as 2 hot sex crazed girls, when IRL... more like manhating dykes (like said above) called Dutch or Mac T.T

Yes, that is correct, that thought had crossed my mind as well, but yaoi is a form of hentai, which is a whole different world of 'erotica'. And isn't yaoi more liked by gay men than by girls ? Or is that statement false ?

Yaoi is purely shoujo. As weird as that may seem, yaoi is mostly the territory of rabid fangirls who want to get their bishounen fix.

The same way yuri is mostly male territory.

I don't know how gays and lesbians figure into the audience, but my guess is, they are a minority in that respect.

Yaoi doesn't necessarily feature only pretty boys.
Ironically, a very popular coupling(Pairing of two people in romantic and/or sexual relationship) IS between Gats and Griffith.
There are very detailed and numerous classification of yaoi, but the basic structure is that one person is Defense (generally equivalent to "catcher" in American slang) and the other is the Offense (well, the other side).

Defense are usually pretty boys as Fulsion has pointed out, but the Offense can be brutish or manly men.
For variety, sometimes the roles and body types are mixed, etc.

And it is primarily a women's domain, at least in Japan.

And just to clarify things, when you say 'offensive and defensive' you're saying, to be quite frankly, 'the bitch and the butch' or not ?

He is meaning "uke" and "seme" (positions in judo, which, incidentaly, mean the same thing in yaoi). Yes, you are getting the drift.

Well, if anyone is interested, my TJTG vol 1-11 went for $70 total, (cost $15 to ship to Oklahoma from New York) and I threw in Agharta vols 1-5 and 1 volume of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I'm really glad to have gotten rid of JoJo's, but I kind of liked Agharta. Anyway, a pretty good deal for the winner: I paid a bit more than $70 for all the volumes in the end I think. At least around that much. And he got 3 CDs with all my translations so he can read them at least. heh.

Agartha seemed to have nice artwork.
Was intending to check it out some time...
Would you say it is a worthwhile read?

Edit: it's AGHARTA, not Agartha like I wrote above...

Is that a manga 'agartha' ?

Because I can only find a western comic 'De heren van Agartha'

Which of course means 'The lords/gentlemen/or-whatevers of Agartha ...

Though I think it's originally a French comic 'Les seignieurs d'Agartha', since the author a.o. all have pretty French names ...

So, is this it ?

Image

EDIT :

Ah, did find a manga called Agartha now :)

Image

Supose it's this one then ? :)

Yes, I think it is very good. The artwork is nice (not my absolute favorite, but very good) and the story is interesting. A post-apocolyptic world, water in scarce supply, a rich technocratic elite, poor urban masses, and one girl that is very, very strange and strong.

It was translated up to the 6th volume by Manga-Sketchbook and LoveHina-party.org has a download for it: http://www.lovehina-party.org/agharta.php

I never read their translations though, so I can't comment on their quality.

By story, I meant more of "interesting world". I agree, as for a overarching plotline, I didn't see much beyond trying to find out what the world was, and how it got to be that way. But I still found that pretty interesting.

sorry Banorac, someone in your network must have been caught by the ban script. If you pm your ip I'll have it remove asap.
Anyway, agharta is no longer served on http (been over a year since last release, now waiting for v7). You can still find it torrented though
