It's not a guess, it's an evaluation, and even if I guessed, think that's to make up for myself what to expect :?

I guess this all depends on how broad your definition of edited is. If it means any changes to the manga and not just text, then I would say it probably is edited. I say this because I'm pretty sure DC wants to avoid paying fees to all the companies whose logos appear in the art. Then, again didn't DC only license up to the third volume? Most of the copyright issues come up in the latter volumes. When it comes to text, then your guess is as good as mine.

Upto the 3rd volume? That's ludicrous, nobody does that. 8)

I'm sorry; have you seen the manga? I haven't seen anything yet. If you have not seen the manga, please do not say it will be edited unless you know. I would like DC's release of Tenjo Tenge to get a fair shake around here before people try to write it off.

Like I said before somewhere, Darkorse had Vash The Stampede say 'My badass skillZ' ....

I don't understand how this relates; Tenjo Tenge is being put out by CMX, DC Comics' new imprint, and they do not publish Trigun.

Anyway, I would like to know if it is edited as well, but I'm going to wait until the first volume is put out at least before I make any judgements.

What worries me is that DC is marketing TenTen for readers over 13 years old. Even though TenTen is primarily aimed at teenage readers, it has enough violence, nudity and sex to get a "mature readers" label in the US.

Therefore, either DC is mismarketing TenTen or it's going to censor it so that it can meet the standards of a PG13 comic book.

It's funny how about a year ago, Negima was first reported as "edited" for ecchiness and after a little fan bitching, the publisher argeed to release it uncut in a plastic wrap with a Mature warning.

And Negima has nothing on TJTG in terms of sex and violence. 8)

Just don't bite my head off for it, having a shitty week ...

I'm in a bad place right now, so I mixed up DC and Darkhosre, big deal :(

im looking forward to finally being able to have a tenjho tenge (as dc named it on their website) manga volume, edited or not. i think that even if it was edited, it word be more towards lauguage than nudity and violence. im willing to bet 10.00 bucks towards it being still Oh!Great quality.

I thought 1997 :?

The French version had no image edits, but they cleaned up the language, like in the past Arc where Tawara is chasing Isuzu on his bike, they made him say 'I love you' i nstead of the 'I'd love to have sex you' ( or something like that ) like in Fugu's translations :)

I finally got volume 11 yesterday, it's been a while since I read that volume on my computer screen :)
good times .... good times :P

:? :? :?

Well, I guess manners are just more important to the French than, say, anal rape...

And, sorry Fugu. I've seen conflicting information about the CMX TT. Some sources say it is for Mature Readers while others make it Teen-oriented. Even DC itself doesn't seem to have a clue which arm swings with which foot...
But I will say, however, that Zhou is correct in pointing out that if they're really marketing it to the 13+ age-group, there is no way in hell we're going to see a even a nipple anywhere in there, much less beaver...

Personally, I suspect it will be heavily edited, but I'm hoping that CMX would try to be true to the manga and aim it at an older audience.

I should say though, that TJTG in Japan is also aimed at 14-17 year olds or so.

Anyway, I just want CMX to get a fair shake here on this board before people start criticising them. You never know, they might do a great job.

But whatever, I'll be in Japan by the time they get around to releasing anything substantial and I'll just keep up with the Japanese version.

There will always be edits in some form. I'm more interested in knowing what kind of edits they plan to do and how big (or small) they'll be. I'll just have to wait and see, but as some of you have already said--chances are, the edits could be pretty big.

I can't believe they waited until the day before to change the release date. That is the lamest thing ever. DC, you suck.
