I recommend the Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) because it is free, and it is a very feature-full photoshop type program.

Wow, he really does use color pencils. I always wondered, but now I know. I've tried using color pencils before and the results weren't great.

From what little I admittedly know about colouring, colour pencils are not easy to work with. That guy is just really good with them. 8)

Some colored pencils are better than others.

Yeah, but looking at the details he puts into his pieces, I'd say the overall quality of the pencils matters less than his skill in using them...

And how long do you think he takes to make one of his coloured pieces? I'm guessing at least 5 days of full-time work...

I find it really hard to believe he uses colouring pencils

When you use those your drawing will *always* have a "grainy" look, no matter *how* good you master the technique, it'd be like painting without texture :?

And I haven't seen a Oh Great artwork ( from the little I got ) that has a grained look :)

But, it is however very possible, since it can be surely editted :)
