Does anyone know online sources for the TJTG manga?

Hi all,

I got an email recently asking where to buy the TJTG manga online. I actually buy my manga at one of the Japanese bookstores here in the city (New York City, best city in the world, babeee!) so I don't know about online manga sources. Do any of you know where TJTG is available online? Hopefully we'll get a few answers here, so I'll make this thing sticky. Cheers,

fugu

www.animenation.com has some volumes you can purchase. I've bought stuff from them before so they're reliable.

edit: here's a direct link to the manga http://store.yahoo.com/animenation/book ... tenge.html

No. If they were in English, Fugu wouldn't have to translate them for us.

Theres a couple of places online

You could ask nerozan about Fujisan
http://mangatranslation.com/cgi-bin/php ... .php?t=547
or
You could go to Mangaoh, I would use Natsume Maya's guide since the the site is totally in Japanese. http://natsumemaya.terminus.net.au/shopping_mc.htm everything is laid out for you, plus if you have a good website translator (Japanese to Whatever language you need) it helps alot. The people At Manga Oh know some English so you can email them if you have a question.

hey fugu, is one of the japanese book stores you go to Kinokuniya? If it is, I just found out there's one around my area too. Actually went today but couldn't find TT (2+ hrs of looking), though I did buy some other manga (50% off everything! :D ).

anyway, assuming this is one of the stores you go to and their layout is the same any suggestions about where TT should be? LOL, and if Kinokuniya isn't one then nm this post.

here is the best one

I don't know about you, but s&h is like $20+ to the US... wtf

From Japan $20 is a bargain.

As for Kinokuniya... well, in NYC TenTen is on the second floor with all the manga. Everything is pretty much alphabetical, as far as i remember. And that not Latin alphabet, mind you. So, TT will be under "TE" section.

^ hmm.... doesn't help that the one in NJ is only one floor and there's literally no english signs there. Wait a minute, I think I was looking around the "TE" section.... then again, I think they group the manga differently.

argh.

It's in kana, obviously!

Look at the names of the manga... find manga beginning with TE (て or テ), then look for TT in that section.

Just remember... A, i, u, e, o, ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, sa, shi, su, se, so, ta, chi, tsu, and voila... here is your TE.

If it's any help, Tenjou Tenge has bright red spines with yellow, orange or blue kanji on it. I assume you know the kanji for TenTen... they are quite easy to remember.

oops.. when I meant they group the manga differently, they did it by genre. Anyway, thanks for the quick lesson in kana. I'll keep it in mind when/if I ever go back to Kinokuniya. 8)

Wow

I ve said it before, and Ill say it again. You guys are really lucky to have an Shop like Kinokuniya in NYC and NJ. All we have here in Houston is a Planet Anime that mainly sells domestic :( , and a Nippon Daido supermarket that sells some import manga and publications like Young jump. I have to get most of my import stuff online, with shipping cost that are pretty high.

Actually, all of you guys are definitely luckier than me! :x :P

Anyway, I really hate going out of my way just to go out and buy original manga, because most likely it's either by order or purchasing online.

I have some questions though. For those of you have ordered online, how long did you have to wait for your purchase to arrive--of course, considering where you live? Was the delivery through courier mail and is the delivery service dependable? Take note I live in a third-world country, so putting my total trust on our mail delivery service may entail waiting for weeks or even months.

This is what I have dealt with in the past
Nippon Export took 2 weeks to find my items when I ordered them and then it took a month to get the items. The shipping :International Mail - Economy airmail (registered) (Delivery to US : 540 g): $12.71

Mangaoh is really fast, they use EMS, I get my stuff usually within a week of shipping. I'm not sure how much it is for EMS but I know it's not cheap.

Yessia North America seems to be pretty good at shipping on time, but that doesn't help you I guess :? .

I haven't dealt with Amazon Jp. There site is kinda hard to navigate and there prices seem kinda steep

It also depends on the Custom Laws by where you live. If they are strict or open your packages up.

so I go back to Mitsuwa where Kinokuniya boostores was located..... and find out THEY'RE CLOSED! No wonder they were having a 50% off of everything sale. Dang it, would have bought more stuff if I knew.

... to relieve my saddness of not buying any TT, I got lucky and found http://www.animegamersusa.com . Pretty decent prices and shipping is good too! Ordered Air Gear Vol 1-6 and Tenjo Tenge Vol 11 (only TT they had in stock :( ). Hopefully I'll get these bad boys before I have to head back to college. :D
