on a serious note why did mitsomi cut off sho-haku's head.
is he going to become a spirit and posess one of them or what.

He could be able to do something like that. I read someone's post that proposed that since a gecko or some other kind of lizard can detach a part of their body to fool their prey and thus, can make their escape. That might be what Souhaku is doing. Not too sure though. Check the fight 87 thread.
