I know it's only 1 chapter, but Aiki is pretty abhorrently lame, IMO. Lame characters (a COWGIRL with air pistols?! Somebody put her out of her misery, please), an unlikeable protagonist, and incredibly cliched plot. And the least forgivable sin of all for a fighting manga: pathetic fights with pretty much NOTHING to see. Just a bunch of characters striking 'cool' poses over other characters doubled over with surprised looks on their faces saying things like 'So ... fast ...'. Arse. There's a reason they had to slow down the fight scenes in Bruce Lee's films, Isutoshi sensei, and that's because nobody cares to watch a bunch of characters striking 'cool' poses over other characters doubled over with surprised looks on their faces saying things like 'So ... fast ...'.

The T&A, however, at least warrants I give it until the end of the 1st volume before dismissing it entirely.

Book 2's out December 28th, incidentally.
