No, that always happens. If you don't have a page selected, then it keeps the changes around, but doesn't know what page to put it on. So when you save, they go away.

I've been meaning to fix this for a while, but basically once you know this, all you have to do is click on the page you are editing after a save. (That is basically when you lose the page state.)

I probably won't get around to fixing that any time soon. So just be careful and click on the page...

BTW, that surprised me a lot when I found out about it too. I mean, I know why it happens, but it is annoying to fix...
