translation note #1 - it appears that GMAO doesn't handle unicode (or is that a japanese encoding?) since i see 4 boxes where kana should be. keep in mind, this is a jpeg, so it has nothing to do with my system configuration

why is that?
has it been fixed?

It handles Unicode or any supported Java Encoding fine. For the record, I've been using EUC_JP, but I should switch everything over to Unicode. (Currently the server only supports 1 encoding type. If I had support for switching encoding types per file, I would have moved to Unicode a while ago...)

The problem there is that the font I told GMAO to use for the translator notes did not have any Japanese characters. I usually have the translator note be a font that has Japanese text, but I must not have been checking that then... (Strange, because I thought that I have always had the font be MS_Mincho or something, but whatever.)
