Did a bit of searching. Found this:

http://www5.ocn.ne.jp/~yuriyuri/AP01.htm

Apparently, the series was an audio drama:

and is also being animated.

Good potential here

Very nice. I like the reactive bondage-gear that comes into play when the boxing enthusiast gets angry. I could see that as being a very handy plot device if used sparingly (If it gets all wiggy every chapter, that'd be wasteful IMHO).

The tracker went down some time yesterday. I'll put it back up later today.

There is no IRC channel, and no HTTP links.

I'm sure you can find it if you come around irc. No need to open a specific channel. Mirc-x is a good place for mangas.

It takes effort?

Well, I don't imagine it's that important to you, and I'm no IRC expert by any means, but I'm confident I hold enough expertise to open and run a MT channel.

*Shrugs.*

The offer is on the table.

OK, done. #MangaTranslation@irc.mircx.com

And I have PMed you the channel password. It sucks right now, but once we get some people serving and chatting in there, it will be nice.

I will serve your latest releases... As you release them.

Good to hear. I guess I'll make you an OP as well because...

a) You're the first one to actually want to help distribute MT stuff...
b) I'm not always there.

Nice.

Fugu: Should I allow people to serve licensed stuff and such, or do you not care? (I am against it personally, but it's up to you.)

I would prefer people not to serve licensed stuff, but I'm not the cops. :)

No, this is just a hobby. I have little interest in running a group, or methods of distribution or being 31337. I just want to translate a bit because I enjoy it, and it is a way to practice japanese every day.

also, I think it is nice that I provide aligned English / Japanese translations. Not that I push those or anything, but for any language learners out there, I have them.

Erm.....I hate to sound like a total newb, but as far as BitTorrent goes....I am. And when I asked someone about the download sitting at 0 kb/s for what looked like forever, he said it'd need to be 'seeded' -- or else I'd never have the file complete?

Yeah, I'm lost......could someone please help me here?

There has to be at least one person with the whole file (well, not really, but this is the simplest explanation) for the download to complete. People sharing the whole file are called "seeds" - they seed the download swarm. You can check http://tjtg.mangatranslation.com:6969/ to see which files have seeds, and how many people are downloading. I run a seed for each BitTorrent link, limited to 10 K/s, so if there is only 1 seed, you will probably get about 10 K/s down.

You should not be waiting for connections forever, because the seeds I run are directly connected to the internet. There could be problems if both you and the seed are behind NATs, but since mine aren't, should be fine.

cheers,

fugu
