XD well, that's my first, i have to remember where i got the cleaned scans.. it had a really pretty dogs layout... i'll be sure to give them credit once i remember (shoulda bookmarked it lol)

Some tips:
I think cellshading would look a lot better than all airbrushed. Coloring as soft as this clashes with the lines.
Don't use black for the shadows, it makes everything look muddy and drab. Same goes for white for highlights, mostly.
It looks a bit like you are having problems with the lineart. I really recomment putting this into Photoshop and using the layer option "multiply" for the color layer. This way all the lines stay intact.
Think of your lightsources, and also consider that light has color, and the shadows have the complimentary color of the light (eg yellow light --> blue/purple shadows).

Either of these pics would make a nice WP. Too bad there is not any larger ones around.
