I saw that, I hope it doesn't get dropped. It only says dogs is licensed though not Dogs bullets and carnage.

oh, I didn't know that Dogs was picked up by a US distributor. I don't like to scan and translate manga that has an official English language distribution, so I'll have to think about this one.

I might do what I'm doing with Tenjo Tenge now: put out a text translation so fans can keep up with the manga if they import it, but not put out any scans because I think it is important to promote local releases of manga that you enjoy.

Posting text translations would be appreciated, a lot of people are bringing up the questionable quality of Viz on the Dogs livejournal community.

:( It'll suck having to wait an entire year before getting hold of the Japanese volumes, though.

Since a license would bring more exposure to the series, thats not a such a bad thing, even though i'd have to say I have mixed feelings about it. However if a license causes you to have to stop scanning/translating(which are really great btw, you deserve more gratitude), then i think thats totally a bad thing...!! :<
If right now its only DOGS, and if licensing B&C will cause problems, then I hope they never get their grubby paws on B&C! x<

I'm going to continue buying the japanese volumes from amazon.co.jp. I don't know about the english ones... the only big bookstore chain we have here that would carry them is pretty disgusting, and if Fugu is going to keep doing text translations then it's just cheaper to only buy the japanese and follow that way.

It's lucky for the people in the US. Down here in Australia, aka, the middle of nowhere, I can't even get my hands on the basics of japanese culture (besides the internet, I love this website so much

I'm glad to see that it is licensed <--- I cannot read japanese but I have been wanting to buy the books anyways just because Dogs is my fave serious -_-

However, I will be sad that the translation that you do will be dropped. Its not that I would buy the manga, butI like reading Dogs almost every month and was happy to hear you hadn't dropped it a little while back.

But I understand not wanting to translate when the English is out that causes problems >.<

BTW since I didn't see any news, I'm assuming that the chapter 32 that has appeared online wasn't yours however the scans are most certainly yours.

I will eventually translate Dogs, I've got 32 and 33 scanned, and just picked up the new Ultra Jump yesterday, but I don't have the time to do it now. I'm two jobs through December so I'm just busy.

well . for sure giving space to US official translator is a hmm good thing, but consider that basically, only people who live in US (and don't surf internet) can actually go and buy these Dog's volumes. So anyway if you keep just translating, things with Dog's will just be same as with TTenge - Fugu transation + Some other group scans. At the best a such thing will just make the things more confused, as worst - it will loose popularity among non JP Miwa's follower. Yeah - one can try to order the comic book from JP, but well, it's price will rise almost twice after the custom and so on. Unfortunately it is not possible yet to just go and buy an electronic version of just Dog's new chapter, download it and have fun. So well... really -
PLEASE FUGU!!! We BEG YOU - do not drop the scanlations!!!
that's would be a realy tragedy.
