She's in the hospital been taken cared by some weirdly dressed guys, from her vacant look she seems to be in a coma, also she is sporting some stiching in the corner of her lip and under her left eye.

^The question that still remains which should be good, is when and how did they get Nagi and out.

Damn I really want to read that translation. I'm very interested in Shohaku and Aya's convo.

bought Ultra Jump

Post by FuguTabetai »

I'm at the Sumo tournament in Tokyo now with a friend (free wireless - nice) and bought this month's Ultra Jump to pass the time (these are 9 to 6 affairs) so might post up a summary later. If I read it. It also has some tjtg paper art that I might run a contest to give away.

MrProphet wrote:Judging by the events of the Ancient Arc, Kago Souhaku's identity does indeed recide solely in his eye, as improbable and fantasyesque as that sounds.

I've reread the parts of Volume 14 dealing this this matter and Souhaku clearly states that Makiko's eye is not the source of the Dragon Gate, it is only the "storage" point through which he has extracted the Dragon Gates Makiko has collected.

So, apparently, without the ritual they've performed, the eye does not really matter, so Nagi's loss of an eye is essentially just a question of losing a body part. Souhaku eye is the essense of his immortality and his Dragon Gate, which does not hold true for both Nagis.

Whether Nagi stole Kago's Dragon Gate when he attacked him with Madoka does not really matter, since Souhaku's gate is stored in his eye, thus, once the eye passes from one body to another, the Dragon Gate goes with him.
Yeah, Makiko's eye was only to control the gates which were passed separtely to Tetsuhito during that "operation", which is why he lost control of them(that is he still had the gates even with out her eye) when Maya stabbed Makiko's eye. So Nagi never had his gates taken so he still has them. And Nagi never hits Souhaku so he couldn't have taken his gate(if that's even possible), does he even have one? he just seems to have the power to make ki rotate, I assume he would but one is never mentioned.
And I'm also wondering if Kabane and Shoujyou had something to do with Souhaku's present condition, heck maybe even Dougen, more questions than answers as usual.

She is being taken care of people that all have the Hotaru Dragon's Palm power.

I read the chapter, and it pretty much doesn't have any useful information to say. I should be able to translate it pretty quickly. (Well, if I have time. I've got a friend from America visiting (http://goneliving.com/) and have been busy showing him around Tokyo.)

uh. Also, I'm very drunk. We were just at like 3 hours of all you can drink Karaoke.

and Sumo wrestling before that.

heh.

Oh Yeah. She's so hot she's radioactive. :P Not that that would stop me warming my hands (and feet) on her...

It only gets better.

Most places have all you can drink courses to go along with the Karaoke, which encourages even more singing and overstays.

Anyway, that isn't really TJTG related. I will translate a bit more this evening though.

finished chapter 98 translation. The chapter is ok I guess, but I don't like how they skipped over the conclusion from last week just to build tension.

The conclusion will be in the next past arc just before something really important for the plot and it will be 10 volumes long

After reading the translations I came to the conclusion that the reason we didn't see what happened right after 97 is that nothing really happened after Chapter 97(nothing big). Let me explain, from what Nagi said about his memory and what Souhaku told Aya, I get the feeling that after Aya came back to the present she did nothing, nothing at all. Nagi got back on his own, Maya was transported to the hospital by Mits, Inue made her escape and Madoka helped Shizuru and what's his name finish of the guards...

It would seem that we jumped forward in time so Aya's reason to keep quiet about Souhaku's being inside Nagi was not know to us, as to not spoil the new(and final) plot.

some did happen, but yes it does seem like aya did nothing, or couldnt do anything. By the time she got back it apreard most everything had taken place.

but, there is still some important things that were missed. like the things Souhaku now knows about Maya's condition, and exactly how they got out of there and back. If nagi cant remember anythnig he sure as hell didnt get back on his own, and where is reiki?

I think he skipped it so he can use it as flash backs later. not just another arc but as material to explain stuff in a more dramatic way.

Judging by what Souhaku tells Aya, it seems like they have struck some kind of a bargain: Aya keeps quiet about what she learned from the past and Souhaku somehow keeps Souichirou and Maya alive. Or perhaps he promised her that Souichirou will not die in the end and that he will revive Maya.

In any case, whatever the bargain was, nobody except Aya knows that Souhaku is in there.

I wonder what else Aya promised Souhaku? Perhaps we'll have a betrayal at the Tournament with Aya and Nahi/Kago turning on Jyuukenbu/Enforcers.

I haven't read the translations yet, but I don't understand the logic behind Souhaku's conditions. If he does kill Souichirou, can he even survive within his dead body? (I'm assuming that corpses possess no ki whatsoever.) And I don't understand how it's even possible for him to hold the life of Maya in his hands.

Seriously, is there even something he can't do?

The bargain MrProphet is talking about is not mentioned in the translation, it's implied by what Souhaku says to Aya and to me it felt more like: "If you don't defeat Mits in the election tournament, I'll take over Nagi and kill him myself, but if you do I'll heal Maya and leave Nagi".

I deduced this from the fact Aya says: "We absolutely, we absolutely must win" and the "this school was once called paradise" which was the main reason they wanted to win the upcoming election tournament in the first place, add the ancient arc plus the current arc and you get: War as a tournament.

Maybe creating a warrior capable of defeating Mits is the only thing Souhaku ever wanted, that or he's tricking Aya into doing his dirty work.

Doubt it since he pretty much put Mits in power and probably could have had Tets last 3 minutes against him and then just kill him if he wanted.

Ok. I just finished reading. This is what I think went down:

Souhaku's eye is still in Soichirou. Either Souhaku can't take over his son completely, or he's lying dormant for some reason. Aya had to use the Dragon Eye to 'see' Souhaku's ki and hear him. Judging by his words to her, she struck a deal with him to allow his eye to remain in Soichirou, probably because she's convinced that playing along with Souhaku for now is the safest course of action for all involved. Maya's dead, at least mentally, and only her body is alive. Perhaps this was the impetus for Aya to cooperate with Souhaku. He probably promised to leave Soichirou once he got what he wanted. Soichirou's memory has been altered, obviously. Souhaku might also be easier to control and fool if he's only an eyeball...

On the bright side, it looks like the Takayanagi are putting a counter-plan into effect, courtesy of Kabane and Shyoujyou...

So, in a nutshell, the situation / standoff with Souhaku HASN'T been resolved, and we didn't really miss anything since the previous chapter. Aya is keeping pretty much everyone else on the team in the dark in order to deal with Souhaku...

I feel you on this, but I think we haven't seen last of Shin... I think Aya had much bigger bond to his brother then Aya had on Maya. She will be asking of the resurection of her brother shin.

Now these has really made my mind blur...

First... about Maya. What was and is happening to her? Is she still alive or dead. Dead mentally.... do you mean she has become a zombie of some sort???

Second... the bargain between Souhaku and Aya... can anyone elaborate a little on these?

Well I think everyone is assuming that souhaku struck a deal with aya to keep both nagi and somehow revive maya from the dialogue in the last several pages but still, its what everyone thinks it is and it is still speculation since we don't have complete proof that that is what went on.

Erm also, with maya, she's a potato. Her brains fried but she's somewhat alive....... or so we think.....

I finaly got caught back up... and man what a weird story this has turned out to be.

Any how... I'm pretty sure Maya is "dead" in that her soul is gone. I forsee Souhaku doing his Ki cirulating thing to bring her "back" and use her in some manner to cause chaos or whatever evil immortal bad guys do.

So while i was getting caught up I'm still not clear about what Soukau's goal is. Well I'm sorta on to it. Is he trying to get all the Dragon Gates into one body?

As far as Aya suppressing him or some much, i don't think that really the case. I'm pretty sure he's just laying low while the other Red feathers show up and when the time is right he'll take over Nagi's body and eat their gates too :p.

Which lead me back to what Takayanagi (the dad and in some ways Mitsuomi) is trying to do. I'm guessing it's something like if you gather enough "super" people in one area they'll awaken "powers" in all the other people or something like that so that everyone in the world will have powers or some such.

Ya! but what do you think? if Maya is "dead". it means she isn't coming back
so that will make presure in Aya... I think she is the True warrior.

I like Tawara to be the true warrior but I think that is not the case...

By the way is the 99 chapter come out in Japan?
and if not. when it will come out?

Well it was all explained or foreshadowed already way back in chapter 78.
Inue: Using the arts to bring back your memory isn't the ideal way to go about it. Like we discovered with Mawari Madoka's case your battle capability may decline remarkably.

Souhaku: All I want to know is one thing. Will I be ready for the tournament?

Inue: Even if it costs me, Inue Shindayuu's life, I'll make it happen.
In retrospect, this conversation was about his plan to take over his son's body (the line previous to that was talking about him running away) and how his memories or possibly control would not be complete...

Yeah I remeber that, hmm I wonder what the memory part means though, since in the past he took over Shoujyou's body so easily.
