i like the picture. wondering if we'll get a conclusion and see what happened to sugano.
as cute as aya looks in the boxing gear, most of the girls i've seen in boxing are rather scary looking. some just look like men straight out.
i'm a little perturbed at how looking at the past few chapters and seeing how she's dealing with kabane and all his random shit from the ground-turning into blades, and yet in 100? 101? jyuuken club were cornered by the arrows.
maybe since she's fighting kabane, resonance is helping leveling up her powers?
if luck is on my side, UJ will be at my book store. see you all on the flip side

That's quite nice chapter, but....
battle beetwen Aya and Kabane was too short in my opinion....
and also- Aya wins ? wth ? Of course she have Dragon Eye, Reiki and etc. stuff, but i simple can't belive, that she made it so quick.
Also i'm pretty happy that we can see Asshat- he look very poor now, but he still do everything, to be attractive and good-looking boy
I can't wait for next chapter.

whoa, that chapter was sweet! LOL bob holding down nokimi! And souichirou grabbing aya's boobs. Classic. I wanna know the whole deal with the cubes. And is it me, but did she absorb/disintegrate kabane's ability and recreated reiki through that? I see it as she broke reiki and rebuit it like the multiple cubes forming together to create an image. Haha, aya looks pretty cool in the trench coat of nagi's too. And it looks like hirohiko said something to souhaku before he left.

Overall, the fight lasted about 100 pages. Pretty decent length if you ask me.
Aya felt she lost btw. Again. (Has she won a non-trivial fight yet?)
The thing with the cubes is some training Aya got from her mother . The "cube puzzle" is the only toy Aya ever got from her mother. I think the idea is to try to look into the future (analyse the present?) well enough to be able to place the blocks correctly while blindfold, after they're randomly tumbled about. I imagine for Dragon Eye users, this was "level 1" training or something. Her mother would have died shortly afterwards, and I doubt Shin ever gave Aya some Dragon Eye lessons.
There's actually two flashbacks to younger Aya in this chapter - one when she was a child learning from her mother, and one on her first day at high school - she was doing the puzzle game in the morning that day too (naked for some reason). It seems she'd forgotten about doing it since then though.
Anyway, as for the fight: Kabane thinks it's impossible for Aya to have summoned the real Reiki - it's gotta be just some hair. Aya, very menacingly, says "Do you really think that?". Insect-girl yells at Kabane to throw some needles at Aya but he says he can't do that when using the armour - Aya comments she heard something interesting, and insect-girl decides to shut up. Meanwhile, Kabane is feeling a huge amount of pressure from Aya and backs up against a wall accidentally. However, Aya doesn't press the advantage, instead she imitates throwing some puzzle cubes (even going so far as to speak the fx of the cubes clattering down). Basically she's trying to analyse Kabane - but she can't figure out everything.
Anyway, Kabane attacks and shatters Aya's "Reiki" (looking somewhat relieved that it was a fake) but this seems to have been a feint by Aya - she grabs Kabane's dust amour/blades instead - though he'd said the dust was his ally, Aya's hair, blood etc is mixed up with it. Cue Aya taking over Kabane's dust (sweet move...)
Anyway, Souichirou stops Aya from trying to launch a final blow - he claims that "Gurei-sempai" told him to stop her, and that he was trying to grab... her waist). Aya slaps him silly before realising it's "Souichirou-sama".
Anyway, in Asshat's fight, it was a double knock out in the end. And they know all about insect girl now. Kabane decides to hold off protecting her - pondering about what he'll say to Mitsuomi, but decides that Mitsuomi would understand that given how much trouble he had with just Aya, he didn't particularly want to take on the whole Juukenbu.
In the end, Aya thanks Kabane - she says it was only a few minutes, but felt like several decades worth of training. She also suspects that Kabane was holding back to the end - he had some blades hidden in the floor below in case Aya really did try to finish him off (he'd been lying about not being able to do flying blades while in the armour, possibly as an excuse to get out of the fight). Aya hadn't spotted the blades until the fight was over.
Kabane passes Souichirou saying "thanks for 400 years ago", and walks off saying he'll look forward to the next round.

aya rules..... I thought I would never say that when first reading this manga. Gawd, her character was annoying back then, what a change. The whole hair to dust to reiki ordeal was simply amazing. And hirohiko having blades stored under her as a back up. He really thinks ahead. Ended in a great way. Can't wait for translation and next month's. Lets see who jyuukenbuu has to fight this time.
Wow a month goes by quick I completely forgot, anyway nice long finishing chapter to tie up the whole thing. Aya just keeps getting better and better, (except her hair ),and Nagi really doesn't deserve her now. Though now I'd really love to see both sisters fighting at full strength together. Next chapter should start getting down to the real deal(hopefully). Thanks for the summary shouki, so one question was that really Reiki? Or has Aya just figured out how to manipulate matter now?
Well, the real Reiki wouldn't shatter so easily - it's pretty clearly not the real Reiki.kk1 wrote:Thanks for the summary shouki, so one question was that really Reiki? Or has Aya just figured out how to manipulate matter now?
Still, Kabane knew that if Aya had the real Reiki he'd have no chance of blocking an attack - his Ki based armour would be useless. However, he was also certain that there was no way Aya could have summoned Reiki. Yet he was still rather nervous (even in his private thoughts).
I guess you could say it was real enough for Aya's purposes.
It looks to me that Aya simply copied/adapted Kabane's method of creating weapons out of "nowhere". I wonder if Aya will continue to do this in future, or keep bringing "normal" swords?

Yeah, only way I can see nagi deserving aya is if he somehow sacrifices his life or rescues her or something. Yeah they are chopping her hair so much T_T I would assume she knows how to manipulate matter. BUt the pressure from that sword definitely made hirohiko back up a bit so he seemed to be surprised by it too.kk1 wrote:Wow a month goes by quick I completely forgot, anyway nice long finishing chapter to tie up the whole thing. Now that fugu's got his translation done, I could finally follow along with the story -- 108 was a great chapter, overall. I like Kabane and I'm glad to see neither he nor Aya really got hurt. I do attribute her lack of injury (despite seemingly impossible strikes, blades growing up out of the floor, etc., etc.) to his skill and his not wanting to injure her.
However, I too am mystified by Aya's new ability. What's going on? She both turned her hair into a Reiki replica, and also was able to dissemble Kabane's armor as well with what appeared to be two variations of the same technique. Neat-o, but -- Huh?? That girl is just full of surprises.
And yes, HappyStealer, I also hear that annoying voice from the anime when I see "Souichirou-sama". Cute, but annoying.

It wasn't two variations read what she says again, the dust Kabane used for his armor was mixed with her blood, hair, and clothes (wow an actual excuse for stripping Aya ) so she was able to manipulate it just like her hair. Which I guess just makes it a body manipulation tecniuque, like Maya's and Emi's. So if you think about it for someone with the Dragon Eye this level of body maipulation should be easy.Swordfish II wrote: However, I too am mystified by Aya's new ability. What's going on? It's great to be chattting about TT again!
But it's not a problem -- it's all about controlling one's Ki, and in TT, that's good enough, so I would imagine that any red feather would be more adept at such magiks, since their store of Ki is greater.
Like you said earlier, Aya's too good for Souichirou now.
I see what your saying -- it's the same ability, but in one instance it was used to create something (Rieki from her hair), and in the other it was used to disintegrate (Kabane's armor). But overall it is a control over matter that comprises one's own body. Neat! I love the manga world, where if you just train hard enough you can develop supernatural abilities. I mostly took Maya's chibi-form and Emi's fat-control (for lack of a better term!) at face value, but thinking about them, how the heck does that work anyway?kk1 wrote: It wasn't two variations read what she says again, the dust Kabane used for his armor was mixed with her blood, hair, and clothes (wow an actual excuse for stripping Aya ) so she was able to manipulate it just like her hair.
