I actually bought volume 10 a few months back, so I have it. I haven't cracked it open yet though.

I have just about caught up on my tenjo tenge translation, have a bunch of Dogs to translate, and then Vulgar Ghost Daydream and Hells Angels are sitting near the end of the queue.

Wow, that's an impressive queue!! Sorry if I did something wrong. By the way, you do all the work alone? I mean scanning, translation, cleaning and typesetting...

nah, asking questions is never wrong.

I do the scanning myself. And cleaning (but I leave that to a GIMP script mostly) and translating, but I use http://fugutabetai.com/software/GMAO/ and that does the typesetting and junk.

The volume 10 is the last one, isn't it?

I'd like to know if you are workin on it.

Or you hasn't got time yet? =(

Well, thanx anyway for the previous 9 volumes!

They're very well translated and have an awesome quality!

I haven't scanned anything in. So if I get around to it - after I catch up on Tenjo Tenge - it will quite a while.

Thanks for the work on the previous volumes. I've managed to keep them despite numerous hard drive crashes over the years.

I bought the first three Dark Horse volumes but their translation seemed to be a little off. I found myself going back and rereading your originals which seem to be more accurate.

Unfortunately it appears that Dark Horse is in no rush to continue publishing further volumes. Its not clear if they even intend to.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the end of the series. Thanks again

I didn't even realize that Dark Horse licensed the series. I wonder if they know about the hermaphrodites and other strange stuff that starts popping up later in the series?

I finally found my copy of vol 10 today, and am downloading someone's scans of the raws to check out. Usually I like to scan myself so I can control the quality though.

Not that my stuff is all that great, but at least I can blame any failures on myself if I do all the work.

We see this a lot where a series will get licensed in the US and the US licencee will drop it after publishing a few volumes.
We are also seeing a number of companies not reprinting volumes of a series that are out of stock.

It's great to hear that you've got a copy of vol 10...you've always done and admirable job translating what could have been a niche series lost to obscurity and I look forward to reading your finished scanlation...

ugh, absolutely no progress on the manga translation front. I ran into an old incantation from the kojiki in the opening chapters of VGD 10. Interesting, but the research behind the translation is taking a lot more time than I anticipated.

I've read the first 9 volumes from various sites before they took them off. I'd love to read volume 10 once you finish.

Do you known about Teizoku Rei Monophobia? Is an ongoing alternate story by the same author but with a different artist.

Hello

I am new in this forum and this is my first post.

First, thanling you for an awesome work on the translation of this manga.

I dont know if this can help with your problems with Kojiki.

This is maybe a bad translation of Kojiki (Probably the best translation out there but still not very accurate), but it may help you a little:

http://www.sacred-texts.com/shi/kojiki.htm

I plan to go to Japan next spring, and if I go, I can buy Teizokurei Monophobia, scan it and send you a link to the scans if you are interested in reading it.

What is DH?

Anyway, I will eventually translate it. It might take a few years - I had a kid last year and that cut into my free time.

DH is Dark Horse. They did Volume 1 - 6 and seem to have stopped. (Vol 6 was May 2011. I was hopeful that either they or you would get around to finishing it, cause I cant read japanese but Im dying to know how it ends.

Kids do that. :)
